And so in the short time that it took the westbound train to pass, there I was back at the "County Road J" crossing and at the east end of the Bangor siding in the small village commonly called Rockland. It was a very short walk down the old CNW right of way, which is now a state trail used by hikers, bicycles and snow mobiles. This trail is 101 miles long and is divided into four parts. The part in front of our house is called the La Crosse River trail as this river is about a half mile to the north. |
