| Having crossed over from Iowa, we found ourselves back in Wisconsin and following "the Burlington" south between De Soto and Ferryville. We had supper in Prairie du Chien and would have liked to go to see the tunnel at East Dubuque, but it was the end of the daylight and a long drive home! Sometimes I wonder how and why places get the names that they do. Perhaps it could be an interesting thing to read and study! |
