And later when I was able to hire out on the BN in the summer of 1978 (which was 10 years after I hired out on the Milwaukee), even all of this was then gone! As were many other things also. I was glad that I was not there to see it change! |

a cold day on Lake Superior after the merger. Was the BN a great railroad?! While I thought so after they hired me as a dispatcher! And so I stayed for 30 years! But some would say that with the merger the glory of the former things began to fade, a lot of things changed very quickly! |
