Some welding needed to be done as the lookout keeps a sharp eye for safety and an ear to the radio waiting to hear "the Empire Builder" to go by the detector a couple of miles to the west! And they also knew that the dispatcher would be listening to that same radio, and Amtrak had better not get needlessly delayed. That is if they wished to get back out on the rail anytime soon! |
