"Extra RI 44 West" enters the joint Milwaukee/ Burlington double track which was left hand running, back in train order days before the computerized ctc that it now is! How do I know, you ask?! Because I used to dispatch at Newport catching summer vacations on the BN dispatchers extra board at Northtown and also because I worked in three of the five interlocking towers that were on the line between St Paul and Hastings/ Prescott! Back in "train order days" it was fun to work there!

David Warnick General I envy you your experiences dispatching in the 60's. Sorry to see most of the 'human element' taken out of railroading. 9/7/2015 7:30:47 PM
Brian Sigstad General Been there, done that Steve. I still have my chrome "bug". I think that JCM had retired as the chief dispatcher in La Crosse by then. 10/14/2018 5:46:30 PM
