the signals at Newport indicate Diverging Clear meaning a Rock Island transfer is coming home! And if you know where to look, you can see that the Rock Island operator has also lined signals for them to cross the Great River and proceed to Inver Grove!

Steve J Rush General I sure miss those days and these things--- not near the traffic on US 61 and it was easy to get across the highway between trains to the A&W Root Beer stand! 8/14/2010 1:00:10 AM
Tom Dethmers General Steve, this signal surprised me a bit, as I would have thought a middle clear would be a signal for m2 to hastings and a bottom clear would be to the Rock Island.. Would this be because of current of traffic rules in those days? I know they usually ran m1 east and m2 west back in the old, days.. 12/6/2016 9:51:03 PM
